The Research Behind Shiftwave
The team that designed Shiftwave continues to make their mark on the world’s most advanced nervous system regulation device. No other wellness company boasts the calibre, track record and previous global successes in the fields of biomedicine, psychophysiology, medical technology and the human nervous system than the individuals that helped create Shiftwave and bring it to market.
- Dr. Mike North, Ph.D and CEO: Pioneer in advanced technologies that use biofeedback to optimize human performance, entrepreneur and prototype design guru.
- Alan Macy, MSEE: Visionary inventor of BIOPAC systems, in use across 99% of the world’s top 100 universities.
- John Foster, Ph.D: Revolutionary leader of Owl Medical’s Nanosorter® cell sorting technology.
- Dr. Jeff Rouse. M.D.: Global authority on the human nervous system and psychophysiology.
Discover in-depth insights and the science
The autonomic nervous system (ANS) plays a fundamental role in regulating involuntary physiological processes such as heart rate, digestion, respiration, and the body’s response to stress. Shiftwave’s technology communicates through the body’s natural sense of touch, stimulating mechanoreceptors in the skin, muscles, and organs. Interested in learning more?
Research Study
Shiftwave’s innovative approach to wellness
Pilot Study - Tulane Medical University
A single 15-minute Shiftwave session showed multiple statistically significant effects:
- Increased parasympathetic/vagal activity (HRV).
- Reduced sympathetic tone (EDA).
- Reduced anxiety and pain.
- Improved focus and relaxation.
Also, optical brain scanning revealed effects on the prefrontal cortex, shifting brain activity into a configuration associated with positive mood and emotional balance.
