Why Firefighters Need This

Firefighting is one of the most demanding roles on the planet. Beyond the obvious danger, crews live with an ongoing load of:

  • Chronic stress exposure
  • Disrupted sleep and irregular shifts
  • Constant on-alert readiness
  • Accumulated physical strain over time

Shiftwave gives firefighters a fast, repeatable way to reset between calls. Its targeted, data-informed mechanical patterns support full-body downshifting, helping crews ease tension, support recovery, and regain a sense of mental clarity inside the station.

Why Shiftwave is Supporting LA Firefighters

When the devastating wildfires broke out in January this year just a few miles away from company headquarters, Shiftwave responded immediately by driving out to fire stations in a mobile rapid rehabilitation unit equipped with seven Shiftwave chairs. The Shiftwave team spent the weekend putting first responders through a variety of protocols that help them reset and recover after high-stress and exhausting work.

Over the course of 10th-13th January, the team visited seven fire stations and put more than 40 firefighters through Shiftwave, delivering reset and recovery.  At the end of the weekend, Shiftwave donated a Shiftwave system to one fire station to enable first responders based there to have continued access to the relief and recovery Shiftwave delivers.

This latest campaign is the next phase of Shiftwave’s mission to support LA firefighters by providing chairs to fire stations across LA County.
